What Is Food Poisoning or food borne diseases?

Food poisoning, also known as food borne disease, is a serious problem in the world. Most of the time food infected with Bacteria, Parasites and Viruses which cause serious problems like severe dehydration and bloody diarrhea. More than 200 different diseases can cause food poisoning.

Some are listed below:

Bacillus cereus : Abdominal cramps, watery diarrhea, nausea

Campylobacter jejuni : Diarrhea, cramps, fever, and vomiting; diarrhea may be bloody

Clostridium botulinum : Vomiting, diarrhea, blurred vision, double vision. Can result in respiratory failure and death.

Clostridium perfringens : Intense abdominal cramps, watery diarrhea

Salmonella: Diarrhea, fever, abdominal cramps, vomiting

So, awareness about Food poisoning is good sign, but most of time people are not aware of how fresh food in the fridge or freezer is once they get back from a vacation or long trip. If you are at home and the powers goes down then Eggs, poultry, meat and other foods can defrost and go bad. If you want prevent food poisoning consequences from consuming spoiled food, you should better try this simple trick.

It doesn’t require much time. Just fill a cup with water and place it in the freezer.Once the water freezers, place a coin on the top and return it back. See the coin at the bottom of the cup or on its top just after coming back from your vacation. If coin is in the bottom,
the power had went off long enough and the food had to melt and re-freeze. If the coin is on the top, then your food is safe.
