Orange-Honey Glazed Carrots

Honey and oranges are healthy fruits with rich nutritional properties. Honey is a natural sweetener derived from nectar collected by honeybees then transformed into honey through the bees’ digestive process. Honey is high in fructose, glucose, and water content with trace minerals such as calcium, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, and sodium.

Honey , Orange with Carrots side dish is a great addition to a holiday table or enjoyed as a meal in itself. The preparation time is less than five minutes, and it takes about 20 minutes to cook the all the carrot. After all the heavy food over the holidays, this will be a refreshing change of pace with its sweet, spicy.

What You’ll Need:

8 large carrots
2 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoon honey
2 oranges, cut into 8 pieces each
1/4 cup slivered almonds

Method:

1. Heat oven to 370. Wash, peel, and cut the carrots into small sticks.

2. Toss all ingredients together in a baking dish or rimmed pan.

3. Bake 20 minutes or until carrots are soft but not mushy.

This dish reheats beautifully. If you cook the carrots too long they will become unpleasant and tough, but if cooked just right a perfect side for any dinner or lunch! You can also multiply this recipe as much as needed- I usually make double of what is called for in order to have some left over since my family loves their veggies (and hopefully yours does too!).
