7 Simple Ways To Be Happy With Yourself

You know it does not matter how much money you earn, how many cars you have, how many gadgets you have, or how big your home is for being happy. Happiness comes from within you.

All your lives you are constantly looking at external factors to make you happy – branded clothes, approvals from others, iphones, ipods, expensive shoes, new laptops and what not. But you are not able to realize that these things only offer temporary happiness. If you really want to be happy, look inside, but not outside. At the start, you might have to force yourself to stay happy, but it will gradually become your habit.

Forgive and forget

Find it in your heart to forgive the persons who have done wrongs with you in any way. It will give you the peace you want to have. Never hold any grudges. It is like carrying something heavy on your head. Stop doing it and you will reach at the top quickly. Look forward. Do not look too much in the past.

Go easy on yourself

To be happy, you need to forgive yourself for all the wrongs you have done till now. The things can be disrespecting your parents, being mean to a sibling, lying to your teachers or stealing from your best friend. Leave all these things aside and state yourself it is fine. You are a human being. Things happen in life. The most important thing is that you should realize your wrongdoing and repenting for it. Breathe deep and let it go to feel free.

Do something for others

Give some amount of your valuable time to others and try to do something for them. You can help an old person cross the road, cut vegetables in your home to help your family, shop grocery or husk a coconut. Doing something for others leads you to have a happy feeling.

Avoid judging/criticizing others

You have a bat habit criticizing and judging others. Your habit can increase the number of people around you, but keep in mind judging or criticizing others shuts us down. You always see flaws in others, but not goodness. Stop doing it and start seeing goodness in others. After some time, you will notice much space in your mind and your mind start thinking about other creative things. For being happy, give it a try.

Do what makes you smile

Do things that you love doing. Take out some time each day for yourself. If it is not possible, take out a day in a week and do the activities that you are obsessive about – swimming, horse riding, reading or stamp collection.

Stay relaxed to solve your problems

Most of us get depressed over our problems. It is wrong and it makes you not to be happy. I am saying this, as I know the more you stress the more depressed you will feel. In addition, constant thinking about the problems make them seem discouraging and bigger than the actual one. Stop thinking about the problem and think about how to solve the problem. Pay your attention to find out the solution. Think about the things – family, home, love, etc. – you have when you feel low. Gradually you will find the solution.

Don’t give much attention to what others say

It is good to listen to others and value the opinions that are important for you. Stop paying much attention to others’ opinions about you. Value the criticism and views based on how you behave and how you should live, otherwise walk out from there covering your ears.
