These days, it is common to have some mixtures in what especially rice and pulses we purchase from the market. I think many of you would have faced the problems of having something different in your rice. You know now day rice is made with plastic and such rice is mainly made in China.

Also called as fake rice, the problem of plastic rice is not only in India but also in Nigeria, Indonesia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, etc. Gradually, the problem is taking all the regions in its clutch. You know the consumption of fake rice or artificial rice is dangerous to our health. To support you, here are some tips on how to identify plastic rice:

1. Do water test

Just take a glass of water and place some fake rice in it. You will notice that the rice has started floating in the water. Keep in mind that the common or ordinary rice does not float in water. When you the rice floating in water, comprehend that is plastic rice.

2. Burn the rice

It is also very simple method. Just take a handful of rice and burn it with a lighter or matchbox. The fake rice will give you a smell like burnt plastic. There is no plastic like smell when the rice is original.

3. Boil the rice to identify

Boiling is also a very effective tip on how to identify plastic rice. Observe very carefully when you start boiling the rice. If it is a fake one, there will be the formation of a thick layer at the top of your boiling pot or saucepan.

4. Examine the fake rice through hot oil

Heat some oil in a frying pan. When the oil gets heated drop some rice into it. If it is artificial rice, it will stick at the bottom of the frying pan.

5. Take a pound test

Beat some grains of your rice with the help of a mortar or pestle. Observe the color of the pounded rice. If the color is white, it is natural rice. It is fake rice if the color is yellow.

6. Do mold test

Boil a handful of rice in a pan. Place the boiled rice in a warm place for two to three days. The rice is certainly fake one if there is no mold during the period of three days. We all know neither weather nor extreme
