Toothache – 5 Steps to deal with it
Having pain in teeth is a common problem these days. Anyone from child to the old can come into its clutch. You know poor oral hygiene is a main cause to have toothache. The other factors behind having pain in your teeth are cavities and decay on the tooth surface. If not cared or treated early, the pain can be so intensive that it can stop you having your meal especially too hot or too cold. Before you make an appointment with your dentist, you should have knowledge about the remedies that can bring instant relief from your tooth pain. Here are some of the steps that you can take for this purpose:
Take old cloves
Enriched with antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and anaesthetic properties, cloves help you fight with the infection in your teeth and cure extreme tooth pain. Make a cotton ball, soak it in the clove oil, and rub the oiled cotton ball directly on your affected tooth or teeth. Do mouthwash using a few drops of clove oil in half a glass of water.
Gargle with warm salt water
Feeling extreme toothache! Mix a pinch of salt into a glass of warm water and use the mixture to gargle to get instant relief from the pain in your teeth. It decreases the inflammation and fights the bacteria causing infection in your teeth.
Keep a cough drop around the affected tooth
Cough drops have a small amount of anesthetic especially menthol, which helps you get relief from minor pain. Take a cough drop in your mouth and chew it for a longer period.
Take salt and pepper
Pepper mixed with salt has analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. Make a paste of these both and use it for brushing your teeth daily to get rid of your toothache.
Use Vicks Vaporub
No, do not take it inside your mouth. You have to just apply it on the outside of your cheek part where your tooth hurts you. Lie down on the pillow from one side after placing a soft towel on the side you have applied Vicks Vaporub. You will get instant, but temporary relief from your toothache.
